What is my Passion?

Traveling.

One of my favorite things to do is travel. With a mother who is a flight attendant, I find myself in the airport more often than not. The biggest perk to her job is that my whole family gets to fly for free. But, the thing with free flights is that I am constantly flying standby. Sometimes I show up to the airport and don’t even know where I’m going, it’s usually up to chance as to what flight will have enough seats to fit me on it. I’ll spend up to 10 hours waiting around trying to get on any flight I can since nothing is guaranteed with flying standby.

But I’m definitely not complaining. There’s really nothing better than getting to fly anywhere I want for free. I’ve been to some really cool places that I would’ve never been able to see if it wasn’t for my mom’s job. I found a passion in seeing new places, trying new foods and doing things I’ve never done before.

My favorite place to travel to is anywhere in Europe. 3 years ago I went to Italy with my two of my best friends. We went to Florence and Rome and it’s still some of my favorite places I’ve ever been, Florence especially. Then this past summer, my mom, sister and I all went to Greece. We got to stay in Santorini, Mykonos and Athens, it was breathtaking to say the least. I love getting to see new cultures and how different people live around the world. I’ll be going back to Europe in a couple of weeks to Barcelona for spring break, you could definitely say I’m excited for that one.

Whenever I’m feeling more adventurous or I’m in need of some warmth, I love going to the islands. My mom flies for JetBlue and they fly to pretty much every Caribbean and South American Island you can think of. Some of my favorites have been St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Thomas, Curacao and Aruba. But my favorite tropical destination would have to be Costa Rica. I would recommend Costa Rica to anyone who wants the adventure of a lifetime… or to anyone who likes monkeys. Getting to ride horseback up a volcano and take a bath in volcanic mud was something I’ll never forget from that trip.

That just about does it for a sneak peak into my favorite thing to do. I only get my free flights until I’m 25, that being said I have a lot of trips to pack into the next 4 years. If you have the chance, I couldn’t recommend more to get out and see the world.
